About Álvaro
Álvaro Antonio Bernal is an Associate Professor at the University of Pittsburgh, Johnstown campus. He holds a Master’s Degree in English Literature from Governors State University and a Master’s Degree in Latin American Literature from the University of Northern Iowa. His PhD in Latin American Literature is from the University of Iowa. He has published articles on literary criticism and cultural studies in different specialized journals in Colombia, United States, and Mexico. Part of his research revolves around the literary representation of cities such as Bogotá and Buenos Aires. He is the author of Percepciones e imágenes de Bogotá: expresiones literarias urbanas (2010) and Bogotá: relidades, delirios y ficciones (2016).
